Dr. Polina Shuminsky received her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from Salus University and her Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, CUNY. Her research interests are in the area of behavioral and neurophysiological effects of auditory training in adults with hearing loss. Additionally, she holds a certificate of competence in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and has treated patients who have tinnitus, hyperacusis or misophonia.
Dr. Shuminsky is a licensed audiologist. Over the past 23 years, she has been providing a wide range of hearing care services to patients of all ages. For the majority of her career, she served as the Supervisor of Audiology at St. Luke- Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. She is also an adjunct assistant professor at City University of New York (CUNY) and Molloy University where she teaches undergraduate, graduate and doctorate level audiology courses. Throughout her career she has supervised and mentored many audiology students.
